Often in life we are subject to those wonderful “Aha!” moments. When it came to the realization of the power of sound, both musical and the spoken word, Ian’s “Aha” moment was, to him,omnipresent.

Urged at a young age to pursue music through classical piano lessons, his curiosity and creativity soon had him exploring other genres of music. The fateful meeting of the minds and musical interests with Mike and James led to local cover band experiences and an increasing desire to write music.

The influences are wide ranging – The Beatles, Chick Corea, Rush, Kansas, Yes, Saga, Supertramp, Bon Jovi and on and on…

In the early days, in the absence of a portable instrument, many of the ideas and concepts for songs were born on an upright piano in his parents’ basement with James nearby.
